What to bring to or expect of your first session?
You will first be asked a detailed history including your past medical history (previous major illnesses, operations etc), what medication you are currently taking and the results of any investigations you have had relating to your condition either for this episode or in the past. We are also interested in what your job entails, what hobbies you have and what your goals are with relation to your injury (it may be to run a marathon or just to get out of bed more easily).
We will then need to assess the injured area so it is best to wear suitable, comfortable clothing. For example you should bring shorts if you have a problem with your hip, knee or ankle and a suitable top that exposes your shoulder/shoulder blade for neck and shoulder problems.
We will then explain the findings of our assessment including diagnosis and what we feel is the best course of management for your condition.
